[properties] this product is long conical, 10-25cm long, 1.5-2.5cm in diameter. Its surface is grayish brown or yellowish brown, and its root head is blunt tetragonal or nearly circular, with longitudinal wrinkles, root marks and lenticel like transverse protrusions, and some are arranged in four longitudinal rows. There are hollow stem marks on the top. It is solid, white or grayish white in cross section, powdery, brown in cambium ring, nearly square or nearly round, with most brown oil spots scattered on the skin. It is fragrant, pungent and slightly bitter.
