1. regional characteristics. Most of the region belongs to subtropical monsoon climate and is the main production area of northern medicine. Including central Inner Mongolia, Tianjin, Hebei, Shanxi and other provinces (autonomous regions and cities), the planting area of traditional Chinese medicine accounts for about 7% of the country.

2. main varieties. The dominant authentic medicinal materials in this region mainly include Scutellaria baicalensis, Forsythia suspensa, Anemarrhena asphodeloides, wild jujube kernel, ludangshen, bupleurum, Polygala tenuifolia, hawthorn, trichosanthin, winter flower, licorice, Astragalus membranaceus, etc.

The dominant authentic medicinal materials in the region mainly include Dioscorea opposita, Rehmannia glutinosa, Achyranthes bidentata, chrysanthemum, honeysuckle, Pinellia ternata, Artemisia argyi, Cornus officinalis, Poria cocos, Gastrodia elata, Nanyang wormwood, trichosanthin, Hunan lotus seed, polygonatum flavescens, Fructus aurantii Immaturus, lily, Polyporus, Angelica pubescens, green bark, wood incense, etc.

The dominant authentic medicinal materials in the region mainly include Angelica sinensis, rhubarb, Codonopsis pilosula, wolfberry, Bupleurum chinense, Bupleurum chinense, Gentiana macrophylla, Rhodiola, Rhizoma Coptidis, safflower, notopterygium, Cornus officinalis, Polyporus umbellatus, Angelica pubescens, Arnebia, winter flower, licorice, astragalus, Cistanche deserticola, Cynomorium, etc.
