1、 Pharmacopoeia standard of Kadsura
This product is the dried stem of Piper Kadsura (Choisy) Ohwi, a pepper plant. Harvest in summer and autumn, remove roots and leaves, and dry them in the sun.

It is light, brittle, easy to break, with irregular cross-section, narrow skin, broad wood, grayish yellow, most duct holes, grayish white rays, radially arranged, and there are often cracks at the junction of skin and wood, with grayish brown pulp in the center. It is fragrant, slightly bitter and pungent.
[identification] (1) powder grayish brown. The stone cells are light yellow or yellowish green, quasi round, quasi square, round polygonal or long strip, with a diameter of 20-50 μ m, obvious pore grooves, and some cell cavities contain dark brown matter. Calcium oxalate sand crystals mostly exist in parenchyma cells. Wood fibers are mostly in bundles, with a diameter of 12-25 μ m, with twill holes or intersecting into a cross or herringbone. The cortical fibers are slender, 12-28 μ m in diameter, microlignified, with few striated pores, and some can be seen separated. The ducts with marginal pits are 15 ～ 90 μ m in diameter, and the pits are closely arranged, some of which extend laterally into a ladder shape and are arranged neatly.
(2) Take 2G of the product powder, add 30ml of methanol, sonicate for 30 minutes, filter, evaporate the filtrate, add 2ml of absolute ethanol to dissolve the residue, add silica gel g3g, mix well, put the solvent on the water bath to evaporate, add it to the silica gel G column (15g, inner diameter of 1.5 ~ 2cm), elute with 100ml of cyclohexane ethyl acetate (1:1) mixed solution, collect the eluent, evaporate to dryness, add 2ml of ethanol to dissolve the residue, and use it as the test solution. Another 2G of the control medicinal material of Kadsura wilfordii was prepared into the control medicinal material solution by the same method. . In the chromatogram of the test sample, fluorescent spots of the same color appear at the position corresponding to the chromatogram of the control medicinal material.
[inspection] the moisture content shall not exceed 12.0% (the second method of general rule 0832).
The total ash content shall not exceed 10.0% (general rule 2302).

[extract] according to the hot leaching method under the alcohol soluble extract determination method (general rule 2201), using dilute ethanol as solvent, it shall not be less than 10.0%.

3、 Pharmacological effects of Kadsura

Kadsura can increase myocardial nutrient blood flow in mice, reduce collateral vascular resistance in myocardial ischemic area in dogs, and has good curative effect on coronary heart disease and cerebral thrombosis. The extract of Piper Kadsura can antagonize the decrease of arterial blood pressure caused by intravenous injection of endotoxin in rats, and reduce the pulmonary edema caused by endotoxemia on the increase of pulmonary vascular wall permeability. . PAF (platelet activating factor) suggests that Kadsura is a worthy traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of endotoxic shock.
