This product is the dried and mature seed of Litchi chinensis sonn., a plant of Sapindus family. The ripe fruits were picked in summer, the peel and fleshy pseudoseed coat were removed, washed and dried in the sun
[properties] the product is oblong or ovoid, slightly flat, 1.5 ~ 2.2cm long, 1 ~ 1.5cm in diameter. Hypoglycemic: 1.3 and 2.6mg/kg of litchi seed dry extract were given to alloxan diabetic rats by gavage, and blood glucose was measured every 10 days for 30 consecutive days, which showed that the blood glucose of the containing group was lower than that of the control group. Subcutaneous injection of 230-400mg/kg of - methycyclopropylglycine into mice can reduce blood glucose from 71-103mg/100ml to 35-57mg/100ml. .
