On September 26-28, 2016, the 11th National Natural Organic Chemistry Academic Conference of the Chinese Chemical Society was successfully held in Shanghai. Academician sunhandong of Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, academician yaoxinsheng of Jinan University / Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, academician dengzixin of Shanghai Jiaotong University, and others made wonderful conference reports on the development of natural product chemistry and future opportunities and challenges.         Biopurify technology, as one of the main sponsors of the conference, attended the conference and showed all the participating scientific researchers the service items and R & D direction of biopurify technology, including the provision and customized separation of natural product reference materials and R & D samples, the construction of natural product compound entity library for new drug screening and activity screening, which received warm response.         During the meeting, the colleagues of biopurify technology had an in-depth discussion with many well-known domestic scholars on the research status and existing problems of natural organic chemistry, and provided relevant solutions, which were highly praised.
      

        At the opening ceremony, Lin Guoqiang, chairman of the conference and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said in his speech that as an evergreen tree in the field of chemistry, the field of Natural Organic Chemistry continues to emerge with characteristic scientific research achievements. The conference has strengthened exchanges and cooperation, and hopes that scientific researchers can learn from each other and work together to promote the healthy development of natural organic chemistry research in China. Bao Xinhe, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and executive vice president of Fudan University, expressed congratulations on the smooth opening of the conference on behalf of the Chinese Chemical Society and Fudan University. Amos B. Smith, III, editor in chief of the international top academic journal organic letters in the field and professor of the University of Pennsylvania, attended the conference and made the conference report.

During the three-day conference, more than a thousand experts, scholars and graduate students in the field of natural organic chemistry at home and abroad conducted in-depth and enthusiastic discussions on the four major themes of "separation and structure identification of natural products", "structural modification and total synthesis of natural products", "biosynthesis and chemical biology of natural products" and "new reactions, new technologies and new methods for chemical research of natural products", and organized 162 reports.

        The National Natural Organic Chemistry Academic Conference of the Chinese Chemical Society was founded in the 1980s and is held every two years. After a rough period, it was resumed in Chengdu, Sichuan Province in 2008, when the number of participants was less than 300. Lin Guoqiang said, "with the rapid development of natural organic chemistry in China in recent years, the number of registered participants this year has exceeded 1000, marking the vigorous development momentum of this field."

        Chenfener, academician of the Chinese Academy of engineering and professor of the Department of chemistry of Fudan University, served as the chairman of the Organizing Committee of the conference. Under his leadership, the teachers and students of the Department of chemistry of Fudan University participated in the service work of the conference and were highly praised by the participants.
