In recent years, gambogicacid and neogambogicacid in Garcinia gambogica have been proved to be the effective components of Garcinia gambogica for its anti-tumor effect, with a wide anti-tumor spectrum and low toxicity. Among them, the antitumor activity of neogambogic acid is about twice that of gambogic acid, and its antitumor effect is particularly significant. It is expected to become a new structural type of antitumor drug.
According to reports, neogambogic acid has a strong anti-tumor effect. It has a wide anti-tumor spectrum and low toxicity. It can selectively act on tumor cells, but has no effect on the hematopoietic system and immune function of normal animals. The in vitro antitumor activity of neogambogic acid was compared. The results showed that neogambogic acid had significant inhibitory effect on the above five kinds of cancer cells.
