Polymethoxyl flavones are the general name of highly methoxyl oxidized flavonoids unique to citrus of Rutaceae. Studies have shown that PMFs have a positive protective effect on the occurrence and development of tumors in colon, skin, lung and liver. Orange flavone is a natural polymethoxy flavone, which not only exists in the traditional Chinese medicine citrus aurantium and orange peel, but also in citrus and other foods. It is a good potential anti-tumor plant component. Recently, it has been reported that orange flavone can significantly inhibit the proliferation of human AGS gastric cancer cells, block the cells in g2/m phase, and induce apoptosis, but there are few studies on anti angiogenesis. Orange flavone is a kind of polymethoxy flavone, which widely exists in the fruit and peel of citrus plants. Recently, it has been reported that orange flavone can significantly inhibit the proliferation of human AGS gastric cancer cells. Angiogenesis plays an important role in the occurrence and development of tumor, the formation of female physiological cycle, rheumatoid arthritis, asthma and chronic inflammation. Angiogenesis is the expansion and remodeling of the formed vascular network, including dentition, endothelial cell proliferation and directional migration, vascular anastomosis, lumen formation and other processes. In these processes, vascular endothelial cells play an important role, so the study of anti angiogenesis has become one of the hot spots in tumor research. At present, many non clinical trials have found the anti-tumor and anti carcinogenic activities of polymethoxyflavones. Recently, scholars reported the new anti vascular activity of hesperidin on the chicken embryo allantoic membrane model. The study on the anti angiogenic activity of orange flavonoids further confirmed the potential of developing anti angiogenic drugs from citrus fruits.
Although the content of polymethoxy flavones such as sweet orange yellow ketone is not high, its anti-tumor effect is much stronger than that of general flavones. It is considered that the main reason is that polymethoxy flavones have small polarity and intend to enter cells through cell membrane, thus affecting the growth of tumor cells. The greatest advantage of malignant tumor is the endless and unregulated growth of tumor cells. Therefore, the proliferation of cancer cells has been an important way to treat gastric cancer, mainly through the regulation of cell cycle and the induction of apoptosis. It was found that orange flavone could inhibit the proliferation of gastric cancer AGS cells, and the inhibitory effect was significantly stronger than that of other dihydroflavones. Despite the wide range of biological effects, the low solubility and bioavailability still greatly limit the clinical use of sweet orange flavonoids. Providing appropriate drug delivery pathway is an effective way to improve its effect. The results showed that chitosan microemulsion injection and self microemulsion drug delivery system could improve the bioavailability of orange flavonoids to a certain extent. Because the anti-tumor research of orange flavone is still mainly in vitro, it is necessary to strengthenOrange flavoneIt is necessary to study the whole animal and pharmacokinetics.
